Isaac Olson

Isaac’s graduate work focuses on driving marine conservation efforts through science- backed communication. Specifically, he hopes to uplift and engage in place-based environmental communication surrounding ongoing marine threats. Prior to SMEA, Isaac earned bachelor’s degrees at the UW in Oceanography and Environmental Studies.

He has participated in regional, action-oriented communication of ocean acidification as a NOAA Hollings Scholar and assisting the Oregon Coastal and Ocean Information Network on data accessibility initiatives. Isaac would like to acknowledge the Snohomish, Duwamish, Suquamish, Tulalip, and Muckleshoot Tribes, on whose land he lives and works, as well as the innumerable Coast Salish peoples who have stewarded the land and waters of the region since time immemorial.
