Coastal Strawberry

Fragria vesca

Coastal strawberries are often used as groundcover.  They grow well in sandy or well-drained soils and can be found in coastal dunes, meadows, woodlands, and even rocky slopes.

Wild strawberries are low-growing perennial plants with large, 3-grouped leaves.  Flowers are white and showy, with 5 overlapping petals.
