Douglas spirea thrives in moist, well-drained soil, making it suitable for landscaping.  Its attractive, fragrant flowers attract pollinators such as honeybees and butterflies. 

Douglas spirea is a deciduous shrub growing up to six feet tall in a dense, upright form.  Its flowers are pink and grow in dense clusters.  When not in flower, it can be identified by its green leaves with felty white hairs.
