English Holly forms a stout, dense tree and can be found in a variety of habitats and soil types. Be careful to ID properly, native Oregon Grape has similar spiky leaves. Holly has alternating leaves, red berries, and more crinkled leaves. 

Digging or pulling up smaller individuals is recommended. Cutting larger plants can result in the stem or stump re-sprouting. Contact a certified herbicide applicator for assistance.
