Scotch broom is a highly aggressive shrub originally introduced from Europe for highway beautification. In Spring and Summer, look for bright yellow pea-like flowers. Leaves are small and narrow ovals. 

These root systems are fairly strong. Pull individuals under 3 ft and repeatedly cut down larger ones.
