Shore pine, aka Lodgepole pine, is a compact evergreen ideal for shoreline living. Their relatively short stature is attractive to shoreline landowners worried about views. Highly wind and drought tolerant, this is a very hardy species. 

With mature heights varying from 10 to 50 ft., Shore pines can adapt to what you want with your shoreline. To identify these, look for dense needles and sturdy cones.
